Grace and Amy first met as teenagers, working as seasonal gift-wrappers for O.C. Tanner in Salt Lake City. Years later, when their social circles intertwined again, their friendship was quickly solidified in their love of food, entertaining and travel. In the year 2000, when Grace and her sister Jane compiled their best family recipes and published "Favorites", Amy was busy having her first baby and watching the Food Network twenty-four hours a day. Soon, Amy was moonlighting as a caterer and Grace was having her first baby and trying to manage the unanticipated success of her cookbook. Grace moved to Chicago and Amy to Dallas, but with hundreds of emails (rarely without a recipe attachment) and lots of phone calls (usually about the chocolate cake the other one had to try or the yummy dish one of them had recreated from some great restaurant), "keeping up" with each other was easy.

Years later, both are busy moms (Grace, now back in Salt Lake City, has four kids - Phoebe 9, Bonnie 5, Margo 3 and Matthew 2, and Amy, still in Dallas, has three girls - Finley 10, Addy 7 and Gretta 5). Their years of seeking and creating the BEST recipes have produced a hefty stack of tried and true favorites. Since they both enjoy having a lot on their plate (pun intended), writing a cookbook seemed like a natural next step. So it is, with neglected houses, over-worked dishwashers and bodies unprepared for swimsuit season, Grace and Amy present...Keeping Up Cookbook! May these recipes help you "keep up" with life... and occasionally shine!
